My Dell Latitude lap top (8 years or so), is failing to boot the XP Professional, and it won’t even let me boot from the various SAFEMODE options. I have used two utilitys on separate CDs that boot and allowed me to verify that Memory was OK (memtest) and one that showed the harddrive was still reporting it’s single Partition, although it seems corrupted.

I then burned the iso for BootMed, and it beeped and ran the Ubuntu Logo, but after 30 minutes I got the following statements:

Busybox v 1.15.3 (Ubuntu 1:1.15.3-1ubuntu5) built in shell (ash)
Enter ‘help’ for a list of built in commands.

(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Hope you can give me some directions.
    Thanks, Bill
